Farm fresh eggs at Usana

Time to get grounded and back to nature: get your Wellies out and head to the Usana Farm Feast over the weekend of 12 and 13 May. Usana is on the Klein Welmoed, along Baden Powell Drive just outside Stellenbosch, and as farm experiences go, the real Makoya.

What the day entails will be, besides fresh air by the bucketful, live music, a hearty lunch and the chance to chill among the chickens. And cows. Yes, Usana is a supplier of grass-fed beef and free-range eggs, so you’ll get to see them at source! Great entertainment for little ones too, and safe as well. Unless they’ve got allergies to happiness, in which case you’re best advised to try full immersion therapy. Farm life is the antidote to glumness.

Johnny Hamman and Marius Uys of Slippery Spoon catering are the culinary geniuses behind this innovative way of serving up the farm-to-table masterpieces. The emphasis on the food depicts the story of Usana perfectly, as it showcases the farm’s grass-fed beef and pasture reared eggs, which are a perfect complement to Usana’s superb range of wines.

Bucolic bliss? You bet! Bring friends and family, bring them all, just remember to book well in advance as tickets sell out fast.
