Vineyards at historic wine estate Druk My Niet

Druk-My-Niet Wine Estate celebrates a new dawn on 7 April 2018.

Cape Winelands locals and wine lovers everywhere recall early 2017, when a devastating fire raged through the family-owned Druk-My-Niet Wine Estate. The fire destroyed almost everything in its path including historic buildings and irreplaceable artifacts.

In the spirit of can do currently sweeping South Africa, several months have passed and Druk-My-Niet has once again been transformed into the fine boutique wine estate of renown.

Show your support and visit Druk-My-Niet on Saturday, 7 April (9am to 6pm) for a fun family day out to this charming estate on the outskirts of Paarl, less than an hour’s drive from Cape Town. There will be joyous celebrations as the rebuilt Tasting Room and Cellar opens its doors to the public once again.

Entrance is free, with delicious food and ice-cold beverages available to purchase on the day. A spit braai, German sausages, artisanal pizzas, craft beers and Glühwein are some of the appetizing highlights you can expect to find on the day.

Look out for the prizes to be won on the day! Top of the list is an overnight stay for 2 in one of the estate’s luxurious self-catering cottages. Included in the prize is a winetasting in the tasting room, followed by a tour with Druk-My-Niet’s winemaker Alexandra McFarlane. Runner-up prizes include a double Magnum of the Druk-My-Niet T3 or Invictus or a mixed case of estate wines.

More fun will be had with a boules competition on the estate’s new courts. Wanna up your wine knowledge? Attend one of the series of tutored tastings presented by Druk My Niet’s winemaker throughout the day!
