Pizza & Wine Winter Special at Eikendal


Fed up with high falootin’ food and wine events? Prefer a much more earthy style?

Then pay a visit to Eikendal Vineyards for some good old, down-home pizza/vino pairings. 

R60 buys you three crispy thin-crust mini pizzas, each matched to a vintage estate wine. You can still catch this tasty trio until the end of June, and then again from 1 August till end of September. Eikendal will be closed for winter break during the month of July. 


Menu:

The peppery and blackberry notes of Reserve Merlot 2015 is just the ticket alongside the Mac Mac pizza: chorizo, olives, feta and avocado. 

Next up are a spicy Mexican bolognaise, green pepper and chilli pizza with the Charisma 2015 – a unique blend of Shiraz, Petit Verdot and Sangiovese. 

Eikendal’s award-winning Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 completes the offering served with a brie, rocket, cranberry and crispy bacon Sapore pizza.

Vegetarian options:

Enjoy the Merlot with the Colour Breeze pizza toppings of peppadews, baby marrows and feta. 

A traditional Vegetarian pizza – artichoke, green pepper, onion and olives pair with the royal Charisma red. 

And finally, the bacon-free version of the Sapore pizza ends off this hearty winter special offering with the Cabernet Sauvignon.

Eikendal, conveniently situated between Stellenbosch and Somerset West on the R44, is renowned for its award-winning, internationally acclaimed wines. 

Apart from the Pizza and Wine Pairing, visitors can enjoy a Wine Tasting (which includes a tasting of the estate’s exclusive Icon range), a Cookie Tasting for the young ones, Cellar Tours, Fly Fishing, Cheetah Encounters, Vineyard Rides and a popular kids’ play area.

The popular restaurant Cucina di Giovanni offers lunch and dinner. 

Visitors also have the option of extending their Eikendal Experience by spending the night at the Eikendal Lodge.

This Winter Pizza & Wine Pairing Experience is on offer Tuesdays to Sundays between 12:00 and 16:00 until 30 June and again from the 1st of August to the 30th of September.
